Real Housewives Of New Jersey Season 5 or " The Teresa Show"

Teresa Giudice from The Real Housewives of New Jersey

So where do I start?  Its been a while since I've written a  a Bravo TV show recap...and I have hardly  done anything regarding recaps since I first broke news on my site prior to season five airing of The Real Housewives Of  New Jersey that Teresa  Giudice and her brother Joe Gorga  were indeed making amends
( which you can read here). This was captured in photos at The Milania Hair Care Launch.

Teresa and Priscilla at Milania Launch

I have however been recapping The Real Housewives of New Jersey live weekly on The Gina show on " Reality Reel" with host Gina Cutillo on www.inravio.com
I originally gained a following on my site, in my opinion,  due to my love of  The Real Housewives of New Jersey and my recap blogs. Many of you reading were tweeting and emailing me as to when I would be doing another one...never one to disappoint, ( as I hate that myself) , I am recapping season five RHONJ up to the point the show is at now.

                                                          " The Teresa Show"

The Teresa Show is a phrase heard often on social media pertaining to the fact that many of Teresa Guidice's fans feel that the show would not exist without her and the feeling amongst them  being is Teresa should be given her own show. #TheTeresaShow is even popular hashtag used often on Twitter ( do a search if you don't believe) by " Tre huggers"  which are over  600 thousand strong on  Twitter alone.
The Phenomenon   that is Teresa Giudice began back on season one of The Real Housewives of New Jersey on Bravo TV with the infamous table flipping scene and it has not stopped since. Flash forward to season five where Teresa Giudice is now a four time NY Times Best Selling Author, has a successful haircare line, wines, and a stint on " Celebrity Apprentice " with Donald Trump where he even declared her a favorite. No wonder one would think it was indeed the " Teresa Show". Teresa has had more magazine covers than any other Bravo housewife and the fans of the show are the most passionate fans out there by far. So what is it about Teresa that has everyone watching and talking? I find the two categories are you either love her or pretend to hate her but secretly love her. She is over the top with fashion, speaks her mind, has a gorgeous house , she's funny,  has four beautiful girls ( who are characters themselves ) , a husband  and a unsurpassed work ethic where she truly connects with her fans and the people who love her. In fact Teresa is always doing appearance's for her books and products doing her best to meet , and take photos with, as many fans as she can. On Twitter alone there are countless profile photos of the user smiling with Teresa. So what's my point? The Real Housewives of New Jersey should segue into The Teresa Show because the rest of the cast have become side characters revolving around the star...Teresa. If  you have been watching, and are a keen observer as I am, the rest of the cast story line's revolve around Teresa in one way or another as that is all they are seeming to talk about at this point ( usually ) anyway.
This season picks up where the reunion of season four left off and we find Teresa still estranged from her brother, his wife Melissa , her cousin Kathy,  former friend Jacquline Laurita, and Caroline Manzo. I feel as though with Teresa's hectic life  she would have so much to film with or without the rest of the group regardless but will get to that. Bravo TV has shaken things up with the changing of producers this season and the over all vibe ( even with editing ) so far is a more clear picture of who everyone really is. Those of you reading know that I am speaking about the former producers favoring Melissa Gorga and editing Teresa in a bad light.
The ongoing rumors of new housewives joining, and former housewives leaving,  was put to rest when the season opened and we find the same cast having " intros" although tag lines have changed. Kim DePaola, Jennifer Dalton, Elvira Grau, Linda Berger, and Priscilla DiStasio all rumored to be new housewives , although under contract, are considered just " friends of the housewives " and not official  housewives and have filmed throughout the season. We find a softer and more fair Caroline this season and she is the first to admit that even though her attitude has changed she is still the same person. Melissa this season, in my opinion,  is snippier than we have seen in the past and Kathy ( looks aside ) hasn't changed much. Jacqueline Laurita,  having revealed her son's autism at the end of the season last year, seems personally happier than where she left of at the reunion but that is NOT regarding Teresa.

Kathy Wakile, Caroline Manzo, and Melissa Gorga
Not The only Roller Coaster in New Jersey....

The show starts off with video footage of Hurricane Sandy and the effects on NJ as well as to the Jersey Shore where the cast has homes. We see commonality in the feelings portrayed as this was a very scary and hard time for New Jersey and the Eastern states. Many are still recovering and the cast is sincere in putting aside the BS at this point. As the weeks go by a few scenes with Teresa and Kim D ( who has always been close with Teresa) are shown and at this point nothing major there until Kim gets involved with family business ( stirs the pot) at Gia's birthday party held at The Space Odyssey.

Kim DePaola stirring pots since season 1 RHONJ OG! lol

We are introduced to Linda Berger ( who appeared last season) Teresa's friend as they are shown working out at the gym where Teresa always goes
( she is later at Gia's birthday ). Caroline, we discover, has moved into an apartment in Hoboken with Al to see if they have what it takes for apartment living should they sell their home...meanwhile Caroline's sister, the sweet and quirky Fran, and all her animals ( including a pig ) have moved in to her home in Franklin Lakes.

Sister Fran

The Gorgas decided to put their McMansion , that Joe built, up for sale to move further away from Teresa and her family for reasons that are a little , ahem, suspect. Enter top real estate agent to stars Jennifer Dalton ( also a friend of Teresa's ) and a minor showdown regarding a bathroom faux pas at Casa Gorga.

Jennifer Dalton, Teresa Giudice, and Elvira Grau

Melissa is also writing an advice book which she assures us in her interview is " nothing like Teresa's because shes writing it and it's an advice book"  This opens up a can of worms into Melissa's past and we find out that her Dad cheated on her mother and the pain she felt.

Jacqueline and son Nicholas

Jacqueline's story line is revolving around seeking treatments for her son Nicholas concerning his battle with Autism and he is making progress as the weeks go by even saying " I love you" to Jacqueline for the first time in a long time...all caught on tape. She also reveals that she is still holding on to resentment concerning Teresa and is diagnosing her with " bipolar disorder" ( which oddly Melissa brings up too? Hmmm Shady Boots) .
Kathy's story line is yet to be revealed other than celebrating a few milestones with family members such as birthdays, everyday life,  and school...although the editing eludes to problems within her marriage. As her story line develops ...Teresa struggles with her daughters growing up, the fact that her efforts to reach out to her brother were fruitless, then she finds out that her father has been rushed to the hospital prompting a future tit for tat with Melissa at Gia's birthday.

The showdown over the visit to Teresa's Dad at the hospital ...Gia's birthday at Space Odyssey USA

Poor Gia. Now to the meat and potatoes...Caroline and Joe Gorga have developed a close friendship and in doing so a softer Caroline , against better judgement, decides to intervene to help facilitate peace between Joe and his sister. ( much to Melissa's dismay). This is the first of many sit downs to come. Caroline finds it within her self to call Teresa for a  sit down ...surprisingly it goes well ( Caroline needs a drink or two afterwards) no one was hurt and no tables were flipped. Caroline telling Teresa to think of her Dad and his health gets through to Teresa and even though she has tried in vain countless times to extend an olive branch she tells Caroline to relay to her brother that she is there whenever he wants to talk. A victory is a victory no matter how small.

Antonia and Milania can teach the girls a thing or two.

During all this hoopla Melissa's daughter  Antonia has written a letter to Milania in school telling her how much she misses her and Melissa decides to send it on over to the Giudice's abode. Teresa receives the letter and Milania expresses how terribly she misses Antonia.Teresa, after reading the letter, ( good thing it wasn't a card )  initiates a play date and has Milania call Antonia. We see back and forth between Melissa and Teresa as they iron out the details of when and where until the  stage is finally set. It is awkward but this time we start to see a different side of Melissa and it was not fun for the girls. Teresa is trying her best to be cordial and engaged. She even changes her daughter Gabriella's communion when she finds out that it is the same day as Melissa's ( who claimed she already booked it on the same day).

A drunk Rosie is a fun Rosie...Just Sayin'
Much to viewers delight, cousin Rosie  ( who Twitter keeps comparing me to as a suggestion to follow )

resurfaces in a big way this season and has already been in many scenes including a future sit down this time between her and Teresa. This came about after Caroline's reveals to Kathy and Rosie that during her sit down Teresa said she was not ready for a relationship with either of them. This all goes down at Rich and Victoria Wakile's joint birthday party. Rosie basically has a fit of drunken rage and says Teresa can take it in the ass...whoa.The climax was when Teresa and Joe Gorga first appear on camera together at the gym and what seems to start of good ends in an argument where again no one is truly listening to one and other.Insults are hurled both ways causing Teresa to douse her brother with a bottle of water ( for comments he made about Joe Giudice ), storm off, " flip a garbage can",  and tell her brother to " Go Scratch"!

Started off nice enough...
Maybe Teresa was trying to cool her brother down...

So what now? The trailer for the rest of the season definitely shows a roller coaster of a ride ultimately bringing the group back together but for me it has been and will always be the scenes that Teresa and her family are in that will keep me watching. I know that executives at Bravo are smart and Teresa has all the right ingredients to make the recipe of her own show a success. I could not imagine The Real Housewives of New Jersey without Teresa and many of you would agree HOWEVER I can imagine The Teresa Show... until then I will continue to watch the original Teresa Show...The Real Housewives of New Jersey and that's the way I see it Xx Billy Charles

Catching Up With Candice Dickerson Camacho

Candice Dickerson Camacho

Candice Dickerson Camacho has been through many changes lately. She has  moved out of state , gotten married, acquired a new family,  and all while finding out  that she will also be having a baby of her own! Candice has traveled to many places in her life and career but this is uncharted territory... a challenge which she is facing head on .
Recently Candice moved to Los Angeles from Las Vegas to chase her dreams  and pursue a career in television as host.  She is no stranger to hard work or getting what she wants having successfully built two brands from the ground up! Candice and I are becoming friends through a mutual friend of ours, Heather Marianna, and I wanted to share Candice's story with you. She is vivacious, fun, smart, and full of energy...ready to tackle any challenge that comes her way with determination while smiling. I am sure that we will be seeing a lot more of Candice Dickerson Camacho if  Hollywood knows what's good for them and that is the way I see it! Xx Billy Charles

BC: So I always like to ask where someone has grown up...
CD: I grew up in Kansas City MO!

Candice and her sister Jill!

BC: Tell me about your family and what they are like...
CD: I looooooove my family! My parents, sister and I are all really close. My mom started me in dance class really young, so much of my nights were devoted to that. Both of my parents always worked full time, because they wanted to provide the best for my sister and I. Family life was good, but growing up was a bit more challenging.
BC: How so?
CD: I was a self-proclaimed nerd in school. It took me awhile to blossom as they say! I was very tall, had acne , and I needed braces. I definitely had my awkward phase in life. I ended up being bullied in high school, which ended up to lead to work with Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
BC: I was bullied also so I feel for what you went through but it has made me much stronger having gone through it...
CD: Agree! I’m actually thankful though for that difficult time. It has definitely helped shape me into the person I am today!

BC: I understand that you have been dancing and performing since a young age...how has that helped shaped you as a person?
CD: I started performing at a very young age. My mom said she wanted to keep me out of trouble, so she kept me VERY busy! I was involved in dance, especially ballet. You have to be very disciplined to study ballet at that age. While the other kids were at the pool in the summer, I was in the studio. The company I was in worked every night, but Friday and Sunday. So, I had to be disciplined to get homework done and make it to class on time. It was an extreme lifestyle that has carried over in my adult life. It taught me to stay focused and grounded.

BC: What was Candice like  back then?
CD: When I was growing up, I used to dream of an exciting, thrilling life. I remember I had an internship and I would pretend my cubicle was a stage. I just wanted something out of the ordinary.  I wanted to dance for a living and  perform for people. Being from a conservative place like Kansas City, this was a little unheard of. Most of the girls I knew wanted to marry their high school sweethearts and stay in Kansas City. However, I knew that wasn’t for me. I knew that I was an “out of the box thinker” and was going to choose a different path in life than most.

At Celine Dion opening in Vegas!

She was a Showgirl her name was Candice...lol

BC:What was sharing a stage with Bette Midler like for you?
CD: Sharing a stage with a power-house like Bette Midler was incredible!   She is such a talented, globally known entertainer!  The audition process was totally grueling though. They auditioned 3500 girls in Los Angeles,  NYC and Las Vegas. In the end 18 girls got the job, 3 from Las Vegas and 15 from L.A. and NYC. We rehearsed for 3 months in L.A. The main choreographer was Toni Basil, talk about needing tough skin to get through rehearsals! There were many other benefits to working for her. For instance, I was chosen as one of the dancers to be flown to Chicago to perform on The Oprah Show, as well as the Today Show and The Ellen DeGeneres Show!

Candice Dickerson Camacho on a shoot! Fierce!

Now those are some gams!

BC: Besides being absolutely beautiful....how did you become involved with modeling?
CD: ( laughs) Why thank you!  I got into modeling after I was involved in the pageant circuit in Kansas City. My pageant coach referred me to an agent there. I originally started with prom and bridal gowns in KC. When I moved to Vegas I got to work with some top designers and did frequent runway shows. I did informal modeling, trunk shows, runway, and swimsuit at the pools in the summer.  I also worked as a hair model for Tigi, Paul Mitchell, and L'Oreal.

BC: I hear that on top of everything else that you are a yoga instructor ...do tell me about that...
CD: I got certified to teach Bikram Yoga in 2006. I originally was attracted to Bikram because I heard that is could possibly heal my back pain. Also, being a dancer I was always looking for ways to keep my body in top shape. I had been experiencing extreme lower back pain for years and nothing had helped. Bikram is the toughest exercise I’ve ever done, but it works! My back got worse before it got better, but I eventually healed my own back! Bikram strengthens from the spine from top to bottom, making space for each vertebrae, cartilage, and disk. There is a lot of back bending involved as well as core strength. You wouldn’t think that the best thing you can do for a weak spine is to bend backwards, but it is!! I wanted to become a teacher because it is such a service to others. It is part of my life’s work to spread all the healing properties of this yoga. I know that every time a student takes my class that they will have a better day. Being a yoga teacher is one of my favorite accomplishments in my life. You can catch my class at Bikram Yoga Costa Mesa at The Camp!

BC: Speaking of health...what has attracted you to the " vegan lifestyle" ?
CD: I was originally attracted to the vegetarian/vegan lifestyle because I educated myself on the ethical treatment of animals. Once I got a glimpse on what went on at slaughter houses there was no turning back. It’s absolutely horrible the way these animals are treated. Contrary to popular belief, our bodies were NEVER designed to eat meat in the first place!  For instance, our alkaline saliva is not meant to break down animal flesh. Carnivores have acidic saliva that is perfectly designed for the task and hydrochloric acid. The stomachs of carnivores have 10 times more hydrochloric acid, which is essential for digesting animal carcass. Compared to carnivores, our intestines are extremely long, so food that does not pass gets stuck. It’s possible to have food rotting, decomposing, and fermenting in our intestinal tracks!  However, animals quickly pass food through their shorter, more equipped intestines. Don’t get me started on dairy! I’ll just say that by design Cows’ milk can grow a 90 pound calf into a 2000-pound cow in two years. Sound fattening? It is!

BC: Please tell my readers about " The Diva's Dish" and what inspired you to start that?
CD: I started The Diva’s Dish because I am extremely passionate about living a healthy lifestyle and showing others how to do it. All vegetarian meals do not have to be expensive and have a ton of ingredients. I find it very empowering to not eat animals and I want to share that with others. All of my meals are easy to prepare and have around 300 calories. Some of my meals are my original recipes, while others are just quick tips on how to stay healthy. I recently started a new lifestyle blog,www.Divasdish.com
I’ll be showcasing my favorite recipes, words of wisdom, and tips and trick on how to be a modern mom!

BC: How can you describe your other gig " Platinum Platforms"  and how it came about?
CD: I started Platinum Platforms because there are some celebrities out there that are actually doing great things! They are not all train-wrecks like Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen. Some celebrities are actually really inspiring. Ellen DeGeneres gives hundreds of thousands of dollars to breast cancer, and Rihanna founded the Believe Foundation. The Believe Foundation gives children a chance to thrive in a world where they might not have been given medical attention, school supplies, and clothes they deserve. I love pop culture and like to read my occasional InTouch!

BC: Give me five like and five not so much...
CD: 5 likes:
1. A kiss from my husband in the morning
2. Ice water during yoga
3. Morning cup of coffee
4. My dog
5. Being able to chose my destiny and path in life

CD: 5 Dislikes:
1. Traffic
2. rude people
3. 9-5 job
4. Not being able to do exactly what I want
5. Not having time to myself

BC: when you have time...what do you do for fun?
CD: What do I do for fun?
I like to go out for fun! I’m taking a break now, but usually I can be found at Happy Hour on Fridays!! I love going to the lake: tubing, jet-skiing, and hanging out!!!  Also, I honestly love working. They say if you love what you do, then you can’t call it work!

BC: What have you been up to lately?
CD: What I’ve been up to lately?!
What haven’t I been up to lately is a good question!!!! ( both laugh)  This year, bar far, has been the most challenging ever. I mean, just when I thought I had everything figured out!
BC: Are you talking about your move from  Vegas to LA?
CD: ( laughs) And more! I soon tired of the scene in Sin City and had plans of moving west to L.A. I decided to pursue my long time dream of TV. Why settle? I want “The Big Dream” I started taking class from the top teacher in L.A, Marki Costello. ( side note; Marki will be on the new Jeff Lewis season on Bravo TV )  I’d leave Vegas at 2pm, take classes in Santa Monica from 7-10, then drive back to Vegas to be at work the next day! Crazy! I did all the planning I could, saving money, working on my materials, and visioning my dream.

Candice on a  job hosting!

Interviewing on The Red Carpet for Inspiration Awards for Women

The Newly Weds Candice and Anthony Camacho!

BC: I also heard through the grapevine that there may be someone special in your life that is keeping you busy too ( both laugh) care to share?
CD: In my travels to L.A, I had met and fallen in love with a very charming Southern California guy. And trust me, dating in Vegas had been tragic to say the least! Anthony swooped me up with his wit and charisma. We soon were spending as much time together as we could. I was thrilled to be closer to him when I moved to the L.A. area.

BC: There is also a MAJOR twist to your story...
CD: You definite can say that ( both laugh)!   I moved to L.A. Nov 15th and found out on Nov 16th that I was a mommy to be! Boom! What??! Before I knew it, we were getting married, I was a step-mom to two girls, and I was pregnant! They say you make plans and God laughs. He must have been hysterical laughing at me!

The happy Mom to be!
Candice all her girlfriends, mother, and sister at a baby shower thrown by her friend Heather Marianna.

BC: Congrats that is so awesome! When are you due?
CD:  Athena James Camacho “AJ” arrives in 2 weeks, July 6 2013!  So, my life is turning out MUCH different than I ever expected. I’m terrified and excited all at the same time.

BC: Wow talk about throwing a wrench in your plans...but an added bonus! ( both laugh)
CD: Yes...I had major plans! I was moving in with my girlfriend in the Valley, had a job at a bar to start out, an agent, and a boyfriend. I was set and VERY excited! Now I am feeling blessed more than ever!

BC: Where do you see yourself a few years down the road?
CD: I’m looking forward to balancing my life of motherhood, being a new wife, and navigating through the ever so competitive L.A. world! I have a chance to re-write my dream life, and this time it includes my handsome hubby and a baby!!

BC: It was great getting to know you and I am so happy we finally got the chance to do this!
CD: Thank you it was fun...timing is everything. ( both laugh)
