Abdi Omar working on one of his motivational speech videos for YouTube !

When you are having a bad day or are thinking that you can not handle one more thing that life has thrown your way there is usually a message sent to you to inspire and offer you hope. There is that silver lining... and nobody knows that better than Abdi Omar who has decided to broadcast his motivational messages to the world via his You Tube channel Abdi Omar TV. Abdi Omar has severe cerebral palsy and he is not letting his disability stand in the way of his hopes and dreams. He wants to show the world that nothing is impossible earning him the nick name " Mr Possible". So far Abdi has 536 subscribers on his Your Tube channel and his motivational speech videos have received over 117,000 views! Abdi Omar doesn't have time for any haters who are leaving negative comments on his videos either! Abdi sees no point in engaging them...he knows where his energy is best spent and that is focusing on the positive and helping to inspire one person at a time with his uplifting speeches. Abdi Omar hopes to  one day be  the best motivational speaker out there...The way I see it Abdi Omar is headed for global success!

BC: Where are you from?
AO: I was born in Somalia in the capital Mogadishu.

BC: How old are you?
AO:I am 19 years old

BC: Tell me about your disability?
AO: I have a cerebral palsy and is a disability which has different levels. For example I have the highest disability. Some people think if you have disability then you can't do anything for yourself and it isn't true. Having any kind of disability cannot stop you from doing what you love to do. For example... you want to be a motivator speaker but you can't talk... you will find any equipments to help you. I use a machine to talk and it changed my life for the better!

BC: Why and when did you start your You Tube Channel?
AO: I started AbdiOmarTv in August 2012 and I wanted to see what will happen if I make videos on YouTube. I watched a lot of inspiring videos by people with disability and I found it very inspiring because I didn't know a lot of successful disabled people. The only person who I knew of  was Steven hawking and when I was 15  I started looking up to him. One day I uploaded a video talking about my disability and people seemed to be interested...nowAbdiOmarTv is going strong and inspiring thousands people around the world!

BC: What message are you hoping that everyone gets from watching your videos?
AO: I started AbdiOmarTv just for fun but with time it became something which people can benefit from. In my second video called Abdi Omar II I started inspiring people because I wanted to show if you have disability or not you can do anything that you want. I have received a lot of positive comments about how the video inspired them and it made me feel very proud. I will continue doing the videos because I believe it will inspire millions of people around the world and I love inspiring people.

BC: What advice would you give someone with a disability or facing adversity in their life?
AO: I would like to tell them this don't give up because you were given this life the reason is you have the strength to live it. I know having disability can be very difficult but it is all about how we act to it for example if we are being positive and not letting the disability hold us back from achieving our goals then everything will be OK. Having disability is not a problem for me because I have accepted it. now I will try to live as the best I can.

BC: What are your thoughts on the world today and our youth?
AO: I believe we can make the world a better place if we work together and forget about the skin color and what religion we believe in because we must remember we all belong to the same human race. Now is the time to start act like one before we destroy this world. I believe people judge today's youths to quickly because of how they act and how they dress. I feel we must give a chance to everyone to change their life because everyone can change with help.

BC: What are your plans for the future , where do you see your self?
AO: I would love to be a motivator because I think I am already good at it and with time I am sure I will get better. One day I want people to think having disability is normal and live their life as normal as possible. I will work my hardest to build a international charity called Abdi Omar charity which will improve the lives of those who are in need.

BC: What do you like to do for fun? What are some things you enjoy?
AO: I like tweeting some inspirational and motivation quotes and I like going to the cinema with my friends.
BC: I see that! you have over 8000 followers! I like that they Tweet using #TeamAbdi
AO: Yes I am blessed to have them!
BC: What do you do when your not on your computer?
AO: When I am not on my computer I like listening to music especially hip hop and my favorite  rapper at this moment is Macklemore  because he talks about life. I think he will have positive effect on  the world. My favorite  rapper of all time is 2pac!

BC: Thank you for sharing with my readers and I am excited to see what the future has in store for you!
AO: Your welcome...you never know! The sky is the limit!

Xx Billy Charles

BC: Where are you from and where did you grow up?
SR: I was born in Tehran Iran . I left Iran in 1984 after the revolution with my mother and then 4 month old brother in a cockpit of an airplane. We landed in Germany where we stayed with family and then moved to Madison Wisconsin where my uncle was finishing up his graduate work. As fate would have it ...funny enough... his daughter who is now 24 works with me!
BC: Amazing!
SR: Yes!

BC: What is your nationality?
SR:  I am Iranian although we have a Russian connection through  my grandmother who  is from Baku Azerbaijan and my grandfather from  Tbilisi Georgia.

BC: What was your childhood like and what were the things that you enjoyed doing?
SR: My childhood I suppose was filled with my imagination ... my parents had divorced bitterly , the revolution had happened, the war between Iran and Iraq was going on full force , there were bombings and a lot of violence and chaos so  I just retreated into my own mind and imagination. From a very young age I altered my reality via my own mind.
BC: I can see a direct correlation between that and what you are doing now.
SR: Definitely...imagination plays a big part of the design process.

BC: Tell me about your family...
SR: My mother is a " Great Gatsby" character...she is  beautiful and one of the first women to break into television along with production but full of emotion mostly tied to loss.
BC: And your father?
SR: My father was a real estate developer. He's  spontaneous, handsome,  and carried an air of sex appeal They met at 18 at the university in Tehran and were married by 23. They divorced by 28 But I take comfort in knowing I genuinely was born out of love.

BC: Tell me all about your business White Lilac ...

The Beauty of White Lilac

SR: We are a group of extremely hard working dedicated persons...we have about 30 employees and each brings their heart and soul to work day In day out! We produce some of the most beautiful events and I think what sets us apart is that we actually do everything in house.
SR: When did you start the company?
BC: I started at 23 and now 16 years later I am still here and working with the very same people who joined the team. No one leaves and we continue to grow together. Each addition stays,  grows, and contributes enormously!

BC: What were your inspirations?
SR: My inspiration was escapism... finding a place where I could create my own world and give clients an experience where for a few hours they could escape reality and walk into a dream world!

Some of White Lilac's Creations:

BC:What do you enjoy most about the process?
SR: I enjoy going to bed thinking about design, colors,  proportions,  a mood... but mostly I enjoy figuring out the technical aspect of things...the things you can't see in pictures but the portions that take a lot of math.
BC: Sounds complicated! ( both laugh).
SR: Things don't just spring up! There's a lot of logic behind building a temporary structure.

BC: What surprised you the most about running a business?
SR:  Finances for sure and as it grows I hate more and more worrying about finances!  argh! ( laughs).
Sunny and Jane Chung taking a break  on a job

BC: What advice can you share on what makes a business like White Lilac successful?
SR: Take care of your employees...always put them first! If you have to cut from your needs to provide for them.

BC: Have you had any high profile or celebrity clients, if so who?
SR: Yes of course but we sign confidentially contracts so we are not allowed to share but I can tell you that we have a lot of events with fashion houses such as  Louis Vuitton , Dior, Chopard, and Bvlgari!
BVLGARI Event from White Lilac Inc. Web Site ( link below)

One of Sunny's favorite events of the year so far!

BC: What has been your favorite or most memorable event and why?
SR: Best question because I can't answer it ... I think I love each and every client and event and am involved emotionally so I literally cannot choose ?!?!

Reza Farahan, Sunny Ravanbach, and Asa Soltan from Shahs of Sunset on Bravo TV

BC: What is your connection to Shahs Of Sunset on Bravo TV?
SR: My connection is Asa Soltan...she's a dear friend that has been a lifesaver through my life's ups and downs.
BC: That's awesome! I love her ! How would you describe her ?
SR:  She genuinely has a heart of gold and an insane capacity for compassion.

White Hot

BC: Describe your fashion sense/style and what you are loving right now...
SR: I run around a lot and spend my time in jeans and t- shirts but always have some insane shoes!
BC: It's all about a fabulous shoe moment! ( both laugh).
SR: Agree! I do love getting dressed up but very hard to find the time to be at my " glam self " .

BC: Are you seeing anyone? If so care to share?
SR:  Um... just came out of a relationship..he had a ring and everything but just bolted.
BC: I am very sorry to hear that...his loss!
SR: Thank you...I'm happy...I'm  not sobbing because I genuinely do deserve a partner!
BC: I think there is someone better that the universe has in store for you!

BC:  Speaking of universe...what is your astrological sign?
SR: Aries!!! Explains a lot
BC: Yes especially with the creative aspect!

BC: Please give me Five Turn Ons/ Five Turn Offs
SR: Turn ons... a man with beautiful strong hands, compassion, empathy, non judgement, and hard work.
Turn offs...judgement, entitlement, laziness, bad breath...sorry just can't deal ( both laugh) and  gossip without full knowledge.

BC: Where do you see yourself going personally as well as with  White Lilac in the future?
SR: I hope to continue supporting my staff, growing this business, and bringing every ounce of joy we feel at work to our clients. I consider myself very very lucky and  thankful for all those who've worked side by side  with me for nearly 16years. Time flies as does youth but loyalty and imagination never age!
BC: Amen! ( both laugh). Thank you so much for letting us get a glimpse into your world and the beauty that is White Lilac Inc. I really appreciate it!
SR: Thank you Billy and the pleasure was all mine!

Music Spotlight: The " Beautifully" Talented Daniel Alexander!

Daniel Alexander In Action!
Daniel Alexander is a singer and songwriter whose star is on the rise. Daniel has been performing and following his passion for music as long as he can remember. Daniel may be young, but he knows what it is that he wants. Daniel is hoping for stardom while setting himself apart amongst a wide array of music industry hopefuls. It is easy to see him achieving that goal because he  possesses both the drive and the talent to back himself up. Daniel Alexander has already written a few hot songs which led him to be nominated for the EOTM Awards in Los Angeles, California, where he will also be performing this August. Daniel is up for two awards that night : Best New Male Artist and also Best Pop Song! I  had the chance to catch up with Daniel  who is one busy guy! Between performing at events ( most recently at his Manager's, Matt Martin's, Birthday Bash),  and doing press on both coasts, I was able to gather some insight into what he is about and what motivates him and share that with you all!
I hope you enjoy getting to know Daniel Alexander and his music as much as I did . Daniel is a great guy who has the " musical chops" and ambition to take himself all the way to the top and beyond .
"The Way I See It" he is almost there! Xx Billy Charles

BC : I know you are very busy so first off thank you for taking the time to chat with me!
DA: ( laughs) Your welcome!  It's all good! I love sharing and connecting with my fans!
BC: Awesome! Let's get started...where did you grow up and what is your nationality?
DA: I grew up in Miami, FL. I am half Cuban, half El Salvadorian

BC: How has that shaped you to be the artist you are today?
DA: Growing up in Miami has allowed me to interact with and experience many different cultures. Living in one of the biggest melting pots of the United States has infused my music with urban rhythms which creates a Pop/R&B feel in even the most “danciest” of tracks.

BC: When were you first aware that you had a talent for singing and wanted to pursue music as a career?
DA: When I was 9 years old, I wrote my first poem entitled “Clouds.” It went on to win the school literary contest. Shortly after the release of the blockbuster movie “Evita,” I began to sing “Don’t Cry for me Argentina” for my family. It was then that everyone took notice of my singing ability. Among other things! ( both laugh)

Daniel on the cover of Mark Magazine

BC: What or who are your inspirations when it comes to music and your career?
DA: I have many people that inspire me to be great. Two of my main inspirations are Madonna and Stevie Nicks.
BC: Now your speaking my language and generation... Why?
DA: ( laughing)  I admire Madonna’s ambition, hard work and determination! Her relentless attitude and ability to overcome any obstacle thrown at her is something I apply to my own personal journey. Stevie Nicks is my vocal inspiration. Her music transcends generations and her style of songwriting is the canvas for my own personal artistry development.
BC: I have a feeling , being as young as you are, that you are an " old soul".
DA: Yes I have heard that before!

BC: What, in your opinion, is the hardest thing about the music industry?
DA:  The hardest obstacle in the music industry is the climb to the top. Getting people to believe in you, regardless of how technically “good” you are is the struggle. The industry seems to have nothing to do with talent, but with how bad you actually want it.
BC: What has surprised you the most?
BC: The industry is very cut throat and very political. Making a mark in a very saturated market has been something that has made me open my eyes and work that much harder.

BC: So regarding your music...do you write your own lyrics?
DA: Yes...I discovered my writing ability before I knew I could sing. My lyrics are the basis to all of my music. Whether it’s the overly pop of pop songs or my more poetic side, it’s all equally as important to me. Music is my diary.

Listen to " Beautiful"  Here ( Explicit) :

Purchase " Beautiful" Here:

BC: Tell me about your song " Beautiful"  which you are nominated for an   EOTM Award and the meaning behind it ...
DA: “Beautiful” is the anthem of my generation. I wrote it for anyone who’s ever felt “out of place” or “different” than everybody else. When I began recording, industry professionals told me to lose weight, talk less “girly” among many other things. I used to be severely overweight. I would look at celebrities on television and cry because I didn’t feel I was “pretty” enough to be a singer. I then stopped moping around and began my road to weight loss at 15. When I was 20, I lost my last 30 pounds and wrote “Beautiful.”

Daniel is feeling " Beautiful"

BC: What is it that you like about performing?
DA: EVERYTHING! The lights, crowd, nerves and adrenaline all invigorate my soul.

BC: Are you seeing anyone at this time? Does that influence you in your music?
DA: Some things I have to leave to your desire, my heart is one.
BC: Hear that guys? ( both laugh)

BC: When you are not performing, writing, or in  the studio what do you like to do in your down time?
DA: I hang out with my closest friends, laugh and cause a lot of tom foolery. My life is a SHOWTIME stand-up comedy special.
BC: Sounds very entertaining...you need your own Bravo TV show!
DA: ( both laugh) I would love that!

BC: Tell me about five of your turn ons as well as five turn offs...

Shameless Selfie lol

DA: Turn ons ...Music, Humor, Food, Spirituality, and Loyalty
Turn Offs...Negativity, Liars, Obsessive Selfies, Arrogance, and Bad Breath!

BC: Where would you like to see yourself in a few years and what are your aspirations?
DA: I strive to have a platform where my music can inspire people as it did me. Music is the universal language of life.
BC: I agree and wish you the best! Anything you want to leave my readers with?
DA: Yes... please listen to my music, don't be afraid to be who you really are , and vote for me to win at the EOTM TV Awards!!!
